About Me
My name is Michael (Mike) Schwartz. I am passionate about working on and with software and computers. I repair, develop and optimize information technology (IT). I strive to help people become confident and productive software users.
Prior to independent consulting, I delivered corporate IT solutions for over 10 years at Google and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC).
During my career, I have largely focused on implementing information security controls, deploying enterprise software and ensuring happy software and web application users.
A self-proclaimed IT generalist, I write code to integrate systems, extend functionality and transform data, install and configure software and operating systems, troubleshoot IT issues, document technical systems and manage IT projects (small, large, tactical, strategic, Scrum and waterfall).
To Consider
Have you changed any of your account passwords in the past year?
Changing account passwords every 1 or two years is a security best practice. Changing passwords is a chore, but cleaning up after a hacked account is much worse, and sometimes impossible.
Focus on accounts that have reputation, financial or identity significance, such as: social, email, banking, investment, credit card, healthcare, insurance, subscription, VPN, work, and paid entertainment.
